Geneviève H. Torres

Geneviève joined NLG as a Partner in 2022, bringing with her more than 17 years of experience in marital and family law. Born in Montreal, Québec, Canada, Geneviève is fluent in French, her first language, which she spoke exclusively until moving to the United States. She graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida, where she was a Division I student-athlete on the Women’s Tennis Team, and later earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.

Geneviève began her legal career by founding and managing Family First Law Group, PLC, where she led the firm for over thirteen years. She focuses her practice on all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, and collaborative cases, as well as probate and estate planning. Her estate planning work includes drafting wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and living wills.

A passionate advocate, Geneviève is known for putting families first and always seeking solutions that support her clients’ long-term well-being. While she is strongly settlement-minded, she is also a skilled and confident litigator when the situation calls for it. Having experienced divorce and single parenthood firsthand, she brings a unique depth of empathy and insight to her practice, which allows her to connect with clients on a personal level through each stage of the process.

Geneviève is trained in Collaborative Law and is an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Family Law Section. She is also involved with FRAMCO (French American Business Council of West Florida) and is a proud supporter of her local schools, including CDS and McKitrick Elementary, where she serves as a business partner.

Outside the office, Geneviève enjoys staying active with tennis and golf. She is the proud mother of four children ranging in age from 7 to 19, who keep her busy and grounded.
